Only one console generation away, developer Bethesda has announced the next main installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise — The Elder Scrolls VI.
The title that fans have been looking to since the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was finally confirmed to be in development earlier tonight during Bethesda’s E3 conference. A short teaser was shown displaying some scenery and a logo, but no other gameplay details were shared yet from Game Director Todd Howard himself.
In terms of a release timeline, all the information that Howard could give is that the title is being developed for the next generation of consoles. There are no plans for The Elder Scrolls VI to land on current generation consoles, so release is most likely over a couple years away.
