Disney’s super family returns in Incredibles 2
If one was watching the Winter Olympics last night, one might have caught something special between. Disney released a new sneak peek of The Incredibles 2, which is set to release this summer.
Disney’s well-known super family will return again to fight crime, though some of the roles have changed. This time, it is Mrs. Incredible’s chance to shine, as Elastigirl once again.
When a tycoon looks to bring about the return of superheroes, it is Elastigirl he first turns to. After (presumably) defeating the Underminer, Helen Parr (aka Elastigirl) is tasked with a new, yet-mysterious mission. Mr. Incredible, on the other hand, is tasked with something both equally important and challenging—taking care of his three kids solo.
In particular, Jack-Jack looks to be a handful. It was hinted at in the first movie that the baby has quite the slew of superpowers. Even as the youngest member of the family, Jack-Jack might easily be the strongest. In the trailer, we see Mr. Incredible struggling to control an almost uncontrollable child. But what can you do when a baby can teleport, explode into fire and turn into a monster all at-will?
The other kids, Violet and Dash, both look to have roles as well. Even as their parents are tasked with new missions, the siblings long to have adventures of their own. Perhaps they, too, will get a chance to do something heroic.
Aside from the Incredible family, other familiar faces will also be returning. Edna ‘E’ Mode and Frozone both make appearances in the trailer. Amusingly, both seem to play a role in helping Mr. Incredible manage Jack-Jack.
The Incredibles 2 is set to debut in theaters on June 15, 2018.
