Although the main roster has been fully revealed, Arc System Works is pushing on with DLC character reveals for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle in the same style as before — this time unveiling Kanji, Orie, and Platinum the Trinity as all playable.
The latest trailer was published early this morning to Arc System Works’ official YouTube channel. The video continue to follow the same trend of acting as an “introduction” reel for each character, even if they will be locked behind paid DLC when the title launches. Focusing on RWBY characters last time, the spotlight finds Kanji from Persona 4 Arena, Orie from Under Night In-Birth, and Platinum the Trinity from BlazBlue this time around.
Although many fans were pleased to see Arc System Works alter their DLC plans and make both Blake Belledonna and Yang Xiao Long free downloadable characters, it appears that the remaining additional characters will all need to be paid for in accordance with the revealed DLC plans from a month ago. This would most likely leave 18 characters still to be bought and paid for after initial purchase of the base game.
Fitting with previous videos, the next character announcement has already been scheduled for sometime in March. BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is still on pace for a June 5 North American release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The crossover fighter has also already been confirmed as one of EVO 2018’s feature titles.
