The lineup of competitive fighting games to be featured at this year’s EVO event in Las Vegas has been fully revealed — which includes old favorites as well as popular new titles.
The schedule and details were announced yesterday as part of a livestream held by official EVO even organizers. As stated, longer running staple titles such as Tekken 7, Injustice 2, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, and both Super Smash Bros. Melee and Wii U will be represented — alongside some “new” installments. Although Street Fighter V has been present at EVO before, this will be the first go around for the Arcade Edition and it’s fresh nuances. Both Dragonball FighterZ and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle will be making their debut at the event after launching just this year.
Interestingly enough, it has been noted that the two versions of Super Smash Bros. present will be having their championship days switched compared to last year, with Melee taking the coveted Sunday slot instead of Wii U. Joining the legacy fighter in the Arena on that final day will be Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Tekken 7, Dragonball FighterZ, and Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2.
This year’s EVO event is set to kick off in Las Vegas on August 3rd. More information can be found at the official EVO website.
