Game is available on the Nintendo eShop next week
For some time, fans have waited in vain for news of the Darkest Dungeon Switch port. But today, developer Red Hook has surprised us all with a release date set for next week.
Darkest Dungeon will be hitting the Nintendo eShop on January 18. News of its release includes some specific details about the port itself.
Though originally thought to be bundled as a package, the game and its DLC will have to be purchased separately for the moment. The game itself will be available for $24.99, while its Crimson Court and Shieldbreaker DLC’s will be available for $9.99 and $3.99, respectively.
It is important to note that the January 18 release is only digital. There is nothing to confirm a physical release yet, but that would not be too much of a stretch for the Switch.
Additionally, there is timeframe yet on when The Color of Madness will find its way onto Switch. In fact, there is no release date mentioned yet on the DLC for any system. This latest DLC was revealed last month and news of it can be found here.
The post from Red Hook announcing the Switch release made a note of denying any plans for an Android release. It also noted an interesting new feature for the Switch port: like the iPad version, the Switch port will include an option to play with touch controls.
