Wake up, Get Up: Atlus has confirmed that both upcoming Persona rythym game spin-offs — Persona 5: Dancing Star Night and Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night — will launch simultaneously on May 24 in Japan.
Confirmation of the release date was made as part of two new gameplay trailers that were put out by the developer — one for each Dancing title. On top of new cinematic elements, this footage offers the first look at how gameplay will structured very similarly to Persona 4: Dancing All Night and remain identical between both Persona 3 and Persona 5 versions.
These trailers also give fans their first look at the expanded rosters of each game. From Persona 5, the hero character (retconned to be named “Ren Amamiya”), Ryuuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Morgana, Futaba, and Haru are all confirmed to be playable — with the twin wardens Caroline and Justine making a cameo appearance. Similarly sized then is the Persona 3 cast, which includes the protagonist (Makoto Yuki), Junpei, Yukari, Mitsuru, Akihiko, Fuka, Ken, and Aegis.
At this time, both Persona 5: Dancing Star Night and Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night are only confirmed for release on PlayStation 4 and Vita in Japan. However, it is highly likely that the titles will make their way West, based on the overall success and popularity of Persona 4: Dancing All Night.
