Pokemon GO continues its holiday celebrations with Gen III
The holiday season is already upon us and you know what that means—Santa-hat Pikachus in Pokemon GO. Pokemon GO has launched its holiday event, bringing gifts and a few new Gen III Pokemon for everyone.
The event launched this past Thursday, but our own update is to advise trainers of the coming end of its first part. Starting on December 21, the first Pokestop visited each day has granted players a free Egg Incubator. This bonus ends tomorrow, on Christmas Day, at 1:00pm PST. Additionally, the special item boxes in the shop are to change at this point too, featuring Premium Raid Passes, Super Incubators and Star Pieces.
However, though the initial event will be rather short-lived, its fruits are not. One of the main features of the season is the increased prevalence of Water and Ice-type Pokemon. And to join them are a few more members from the Hoenn region (Gen III) of Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire.
Milotic, Sharpedo, Relicanth and Snorunt are a just a few of the new Pokemon available this season. And since they have been introduced, they are going to stick around well past the holiday season. Kyogre is likely to appear at the tail-end of the event even, if previous events are any sign.
The rest of Gen III has yet to be released, but everything seems to be moving at a good rate. We are likely to have the others early next year.
