CAPCOM has revealed that all eight Mega Man X titles will be coming to all current gen “home” consoles in Summer 2018.

The information was shared as a starting point for today’s Mega Man 30th Anniversary Celebration livestream held by CAPCOM on Twitch. While no gameplay footage was shown, confirmation came directly from the developers — who also gave some insight into their favorite Mega Man X moments during the livestream.
Although it wasn’t clarified during the event, official CAPCOM PR has seemingly verified that the games will be releasing as separate installments and not as a single collection, as many previous ports have been packaged. This has already led to some debate over pricing and the presumption that the titles will only be available digitally in such a capacity.
Also confirmed today, all eight games from the futuristic Mega Man® X series are coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®4 system, Xbox One, and PC in Summer 2018. The X series introduced features such as powerful armor upgrades and wall-jumping, with more mature themes in this action platforming series. Fans can expect more information on these games in the coming months.
Previously, a Mega Man X Collection was released in 2006 exclusively for the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2. However, this set only included the first six X series games. This new 2018 release, whether in collection form or not, will seemingly offer the best method to go back and relive the entirety of the side series.
