Battle Every Series Villain and Legendary Ever in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

Gang’s all here: A nostalgia overload has been confirmed for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, as every main series villain and legendary Pokémon will make a return for the special installments.

Although we reported on the inclusion of Team Rocket in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon last week, in light of today’s info dump, it appears that we were only scratching the surface. What was once the iconic bunch of Pokémon stealing thugs is now known as Team Rainbow Rocket — new and improved with every main series villain over the past 20 years. And of course, their leader is none other than Giovanni himself.

Even with this fresh news, however, it’s still difficult to tell if this “new” threat is a major part of the main plot line, or something akin to the Battle Tree from Sun and Moon — which allowed players to face off against notable Series trainers over the generations. Seeing as how the info is mixed in with news regarding the new three vs. three Battle Agency and collectible Totem Stickers — which appear to be extra content — our money is on Team Rainbow Rocket being something similar.

The nostalgia trip doesn’t stop there, however. It was also revealed today that nearly every legendary will be encounterable throughout Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon via the use of Ultra Wormholes. Though, as some have pointed out, this graphic supplied by the official Pokémon Twitter account is missing the likes of Mew, Jirachi, Celebi, and the other “smaller” legendary creatures.

Also, as is tradition with each split version installment of the Pokémon series, there are certain legendaries that are exclusive to either Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon. In addition, certain monsters will only appear when the trainer has specific other Pokémon in their party. The list and prerequisites reads as follows:

Pokemon Ultra Sun

– Ho-Oh

– Raikou

– Groudon

– Latios

– Dialga

– Heatran

– Reshiram

– Tornadus

– Xerneas

Pokemon Ultra Moon

– Lugia

– Entei

– Kyogre

– Latias

– Palkia

– Regigigas

– Zekrom

– Thundurus

– Yveltal

Party specific legendaries

– Suicune (Raikou and Entei in party)

– Rayquaza (Groudon and Kyogre)

– Giratina (Dialga and Palkia in party)

– Kyurem (Reshiram and Zekrom in party)

– Landorus (Tornadus and Thundurus in party)

The next — and likely final — info dump for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has been confirmed for November 10, just seven days before the games will launch for Nintendo 3DS on November 17. For more information on all this news, be sure to check out the official Pokémon website
