‘Attack on Titan 2’ to Drop in March 2018

Proof Attack on Titan is still kicking

The second season of the Attack on Titan anime finished several months ago, but the game is still in production. Maybe not for too much longer though, unlike the long-awaited basement.

Koei Tecmo recently announced that Attack on Titan 2, the videogame, will be released in March 2018. Season 3 of the anime is coming the very same year, but no specifics have been announced yet, however.

Developer Omega Force is also responsible for a game based on the first season of Attack on Titan, known as AOT: Wings of Freedom. This first title received fairly positive reviews, with one of its more notable features being its agile flight system. Though a musou or ‘Warriors’ title, the game is unique in requiring significantly more precision to defeat its enemies. Titans are naturally only defeated by slicing the nape of the neck, a movement that requires agility and aim.

The Attack on Titan 2 game is sure to have a similar system. If it’s to improve on anything, it should seek to repair the failings of most Warriors games, which are a lackluster story and repetitive gameplay motions.

The game’s current character roster includes: Eren Jaeger, Mikasa Ackerman, Armin Arlert, Levi, Miche Zacharias, Nanaba, Gelgar, Ymir and Christa Lenz. The new title also adds a ‘Custom Scout’ feature, which allows the player to create their own character.

Attack on Titan 2 will be released in March next year for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Further details are likely to be announced closer to launch date.
