The first version you can truly play upside down
In a move few were expecting, it has been announced that VVVVVV will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. And who knows? The mobile console may be a little easier to turn upside down.
The indie title was originally released in 2010 to overwhelmingly-positive critical reviews. Though it has been some time since, it is still considered a big indie hit.
One is likely to be familiar with VVVVVV’s catchy bit-tune soundtrack or its strikingly minimalistic design. But it would seem that there is also a new feature included with the Switch port; co-op.
Though it hasn’t been explicitly confirmed yet, the latest video would seem to suggest this. Towards the end, we see two independent characters moving through a series of levels.
The speculation is that this means co-op, as no similar scene occurred in the game’s story. How co-op is meant to work in VVVVVV is currently beyond answering, however.
VVVVVV will be releasing for the Nintendo Switch on November 17. It will be available as a digital download for $9.99 off the Nintendo eShop. Though other games published by Nicalis have had physical releases, it’s unclear whether VVVVVV will as well.
