‘Tis the retro season, we suppose
Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 mostly seem fairly standard in the way of Resident Evil games. It’s unique as a title, but the core zombie-shooting concept is the same. However, there’s a little more to differentiate it, seen in some fun new details.
It was revealed via the official Resident Evil Twitter page that both Revelations games will feature a retro-style minigame. Available in-game, the titles are reminiscent of features like the original Call of Duty: Black Ops’ main screen Zork terminal.
Here’s what we know about the minigames:
Revelations 1: Ghost Ship Panic
Ghost Ship Panic is one of your classic, loading screen minigames. Available only during the initial load screen, it features a reticle that the player then moves about to blast zombies. In the case of Revelations, these are referred to as “the Ooze.”
Revelations 2: Ghouls ‘n Homunculi
Ghouls ‘n Homunculi looks to be a little more substantial than Ghost Ship Panic. Seemingly inspired by the classic Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Ghouls ‘n Homunculi is a side-scrolling adventure that follows Barry as he searches for his lost daughter. Fans might note that Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts was one of the titles to release with the SNES Classic recently.
Resident Revelations 1 and 2 come to the Switch on November 28. These minigames will be exclusive to these versions.
