A new trailer for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon has granted fans an extended look into the games’ mysterious story — in addition to some new features.
Just published to both the Japanese Pokémon YouTube and Twitter accounts, the footage includes a few scenes showcased during last month’s Nintendo Direct alongside plenty of new cutscenes. However, the video is entirely in Japanese with no English version posted quite yet, so information can only be gleaned from the animations.
The video — while clearly centered around Necrozma’s consumption and fusion with both Solgaleo and Lunala — showcases many returning characters, including some we hadn’t seen yet in the new versions. Interestingly enough as well, a short clip of the player character riding both legendaries is shown, which is something entirely new to both installments. It is yet to be seen if the player will control either, however, or if this is strictly cutscene material.
Both Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are still scheduled to launch on November 17 for Nintendo 3DS. Near the end of last month, we reported on all of the games’ details to come out of the recent Nintendo Direct, including a new Mantine Pokéride, photo mode, and both preorder and digital purchase bonuses.
