After months of hinting that the project was close to completion, developer ConcernedApe has confirmed that Stardew Valley will launch on Nintendo Switch this Thursday.

The news was confirmed this morning on the official Stardew Valley website, as well as in a tweet from publisher Chucklefish. Somewhat shockingly, the port of the hit 2016 indie title will only be priced at $14.99 MSRP. More details on the launch can be found below.
I have exciting news:
Stardew Valley will come to the Nintendo Switch on October 5th, 2017
I’m very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console… I grew up on Nintendo, after all! This will not only be the first time Stardew Valley appears on a Nintendo platform, but also the first time Stardew will be on a portable system.
The Switch version will be priced at $14.99 USD.
I would like to give a big shout out to Sickhead Games, who worked very hard to develop this port. They did a great job, as always, and deserve all the credit! I’d also like to thank my publisher Chucklefish for coordinating everything.
I look forward to hearing about your experience with Stardew Valley “on the go” this Thursday!
A close release date was expected by fans of Stardew Valley, especially after it was made known a couple weeks ago that the game was submitted to Nintendo for review. The title will be available exclusively on the Nintendo eShop, as no confirmation of a physical version has been made yet.
Stardew Valley follows in the recent trend of big indie games seeing launch on the hybrid Switch console. Over the past few days, we’ve reported on the anticipated release of Golf Story on the system, as well as the confirmation of Darkest Dungeon’s development.
