As one last surprise, Koei Tecmo has revealed that the narrator and shopkeeper of Fire Emblem Warriors — Anna — is playable in the game as well.
The news was confirmed in a trailer posted to Koei Tecmo’s official YouTube channel. It features both cinematic and gameplay footage of the character, highlighting her unique moveset and…circumstance.
Based on the demonstration, Anna looks to fulfill a typical archer role, utilizing a bow and arrow as well as even summoning down a ballista with some attacks. However, what serves as both interesting and a neat reference, the “timeless” character can also bring forth other copies of herself, possibly giving a nod towards her presence in the series overall. After all, Anna has been one of the most reoccurring “heroes” over the course of several titles, serving the player as shopkeeper, instructor, or even a leader in the mobile hit Fire Emblem Heroes. However, it looks like all these copies of Anna maintain her same level of greediness, fighting over who gets to take the quest reward.
In addition, the developers granted the first look of Lucina in her alternate costume — a bonus for purchasing Fire Emblem Warriors’ DLC Season Pass. Undoubtedly, this option will be available as soon as the game launches in North America on Nintendo Switch and 3DS on October 20.
