The fan-favorite is finally here, along with a surprise or two
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite launches tomorrow and fans are plenty excited to get their hands on the new fighting game, after months of teaser trailers, variant covers and character reveals. But it wasn’t until this morning that Capcom announced the rest of its six DLC characters.
To a roster that we already knew included Sigma and Black Panther, Capcom has added four new characters, including: Monster Hunter, Winter Soldier, Black Widow and Venom.
Venom and Winter Soldier were pretty much expected, and Monster Hunter was a popular rumor, but Black Widow isn’t something we’d heard any news of before. You may remember that we covered a leak of the full Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite a few months ago, based on pictures of supposedly-datamined information posted on the game’s Reddit page. Leading all the way up to the game’s release, each new character reveal has further verified the leak, with the only exceptions being the newly announced Monster Hunter and Black Widow.
While the leak could have missed these two, it also may be that these two characters weren’t initially planned, that they fill in slots that were initially created empty. No footage yet exists of any of the newly-announced four, and the official Twitter post only tells us that all six DLC characters will simply be available later this year.
This brings the full roster of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite up to 36 characters, including those available as DLC. We’ll be closely watching for any news of the future DLC characters, but for now, everyone is likely waiting in anticipation of tomorrow’s release.
