Original Mario Bros. To Jump Onto Switch

The return of a classic.

It’s not quite a ‘Virtual Console’ feature, but maybe it’s a start? In a quick, one-minute trailer debuted yesterday, we got some of the first hints of retro/arcade game support for the Nintendo Switch.

The first Arcade Archives title was unveiled alongside several other planned titles, with the first being Arcade Archives: Mario Bros. The title features the classic arcade game Mario Bros. in a new Switch format. The Arcade Archives titles would seem to present their classic games quite faithfully, though the trailer hints at “other subtle differences you can’t find in their NES counterparts.”

Titles announced in the announcement trailer include: Punch-Out, CluCluLand, Vs. Balloon Fight, Vs. Ice Climbers, Vs. Super Mario Bros. and Vs. Pinball.

The first to be released, however, will be Arcade Archives: Mario Bros., which will be available on the Nintendo eShop starting September 27, for a price of $7.99.
