Since its spring release, Nintendo Switch owners have been waiting on the release of a few more system features. Like, namely, an internet browser for the console.
But recently there may have been a leak confirming the current development of a few other of those missing features: a system for leaderboards, rankings and achievements.
In a Reddit AMA for the game Lichtspeer, indie developer Lichthund was asked about the existence of online leaderboards/rankings. Here was the official response:
“Nintendo doesn’t have an official support for Achievements and Leaderboards, like Sony or Microsoft but we know that they’re working on it. We’ll see how it goes and we’ll add the rankings along the way.”
Of course, this response doesn’t line up with anything official we’ve been told so far, so one Reddit user was naturally confused.
Nintendo doesn’t have an official support for Achievements and Leaderboards, like Sony or Microsoft but we know that they’re working on it.
Huh?! Isn’t this supposed to be a secret?
While this kind of confirmation isn’t rock solid, it is a likely hint that Nintendo is working on these features. With rumors of a Nintendo Direct happening soon, it’s very possible we might hear more about it then.
And hopefully something more about an internet browser as well.
