Bethesda Softworks already has its hands full with Wolfenstein II and the Switch edition of Skyrim, but it was revealed recently that, in addition to a few other known projects, Bethesda also has one currently-unannounced project.
In a recent interview with Tek Syndicate at PAX West 2017, Bethesda VP Pete Hines let slip that Bethesda has yet to announce one of their current projects. When asked by the Tek Syndicate journalist about Bethesda’s current projects, Hines went on to list the several titles we know already, including Wolfenstein II, the new Skyrim ports and The Evil Within 2. He then dropped this bombshell suddenly:
“We have a ton of stuff going on… And we even have a game coming out this year that we haven’t even told anybody about yet.”
When asked to elaborate by the interviewer, this was all Hines had to say:
“It can wait. It won’t be so long. I’m not telling.”
Pete Hines hasn’t said much about the moment since. And he’s been shutting down Twitter comments left and right.
It’s likely that Hines wasn’t supposed to say what he did and that he is now trying to make up for lost ground. And though this news of his is surprising, it isn’t necessarily unexpected.
In an earlier article, we covered a potential leak that Target may have made, alleging the existence of a Bethesda-made Game of Thrones title. If the leak has any veracity, it could be that this is the unannounced title Pete Hines is speaking of.
Of course, it could also be something small like Fallout Shelter.
