UPDATE: Super Mario Run is now back on the IOS App Store, upgraded to version 3.0.3. This update includes minor bug fixes.
It appears that Mario has run himself right off some smartphones, as Super Mario Run has disappeared from the IOS App Store this morning.
According to users on Reddit — and simply by taking a look ourselves — the former plumber’s first mobile adventure is nowhere to be seen. A search conducted specifically for the game’s title yields only the related iMessage stickers available, but not the source.
Reports coming in state that the game is still alive and well on the Google Play store for Android devices, however. This may simply be a case of Apple taking the side-scroller down temporarily, but as for what reason remains to be seen. Updates can be applied while an app is still on market, so a new version is likely not the culprit.
Super Mario Run originally debuted on Apple IOS in December of last year and March of this year on Android.
