Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite isn’t the only fighting game to get attention from Gamescom. The much-anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ also debuted a video with this year’s convention.
Released on the Bandai Namco US Twitter page this morning, the video is noteworthy in confirming the entrance of several characters in its roster, including Android 16, Android 18, Krillin and Piccolo. We also get to see some very well-animated action sequences, which suggest that Dragon Ball FighterZ could be one of the best-looking Dragon Ball games.
The video also teases at the story of Dragon Ball FighterZ, but there isn’t much to be seen. There’s a quick hint at an army of evil, Super Saiyan Goku’s and Vegeta’s (along with a few Piccolo’s), but it isn’t entirely clear what this means for the story yet or how powerful these characters will be. They dress similarly to Goku Black, but it’s uncertain whether any of these potential villains will have a connection to the DBZ villain.
The end of the trailer also introduces the Dragon Ball FighterZ: Collector’s Edition and what the package will include. Along with a copy of the game, the Collector’s Edition will include three art boards, a steelbook case for the game and a 7” Goku statue.
Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to release for all systems in February of 2018.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Gamescom showcase will also include a 64-player tournament, taking place this Friday on the ESL Stage. The event will be available for viewing via the official ESL Twitch page.
