With Uncharted: The Lost Legacy coming to the Playstation 4 this coming Tuesday (August 22), Playstation has just released the game’s official launch trailer.
The video in question details the plot of the upcoming game, which focuses on the story of Chloe Frazer, a character first introduced in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves back in 2009. The Lost Legacy is about Frazer’s quest to obtain the lost Tusk of Ganesh, an ancient artifact hidden somewhere in the Western Ghats of India, a location embroiled in civil war. Along the way, Frazer recruits the help of mercenary Nadine Ross, and runs into trouble with warlord and rebel leader Asav.
While originally intended to be DLC for Uncharted 4, what would go on to become Uncharted: The Lost Legacy became so long that developer Naughty Dog sought to release it as a standalone title. In an interview with IBTimes UK, it was teased that the game could be over 10 hours long.
Fans can expect The Lost Legacy to play similarly to Uncharted 4, with plenty of puzzles and tense firefights, though the switch in protagonists will have some effect in how the game is primarily played. Whereas Nathan Drake is more of an untrained brawler, Chloe Frazer will focus more on the use of martial arts techniques in fighting. The Lost Legacy also introduces stealth weapons and a mini-game for lockpicking chests and doors.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is, at the time of this writing, still available for pre-order for $39.99, which also includes a digital copy of Jak and Dexter: The Precursor Legacy on launch day, August 22. Of course, owners of the deluxe edition of Uncharted 4 still receive The Lost Legacy for free, as part of the bundle.
