It was revealed today that Sonic Mania is receiving a delay on PC only until August 29 to bring further optimization to the game just before launch.
Addressed as part of an impromptu live stream this morning, Sonic the Hedgehog Social Media Manager Aaron Webber broke the tough news for fans who are planning to get the highly anticipated title on Steam. With only a few days left to go, the development team decided that putting off the release was the best decision for the platform. Mania is still scheduled to release this upcoming Tuesday, August 15 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
To hold fans over, SEGA published the opening cinematic of the game late last night. The trailer can be enjoyed below, with animations by Tyson Hesse and music composition by Hyper Potions.
