Pokémon directors Junichi Masuda and Shigeru Ohmori recently sat down for an interview to discuss how they’ve approached developing the handheld classic for Nintendo’s latest hardware.
As part of a month-long news blow out coming from popular U.S. gaming publication Game Informer, the developers elaborate on the direction that they see the megahit franchise going in, as well as how they hope fans new and old will react to having the series on a home or hybrid console for the first time. Although no concrete release window was given for Pokémon to launch on Switch, many believe that there is a strong likelihood that it appears on the console by Holiday 2018.
To hold over die-hard fans, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are set to release on Nintendo 3DS this upcoming November 17, with Pokkén Tournament DX planned to launch on Nintendo Switch on September 22. A couple days ago, we reported on the unveiling of a new form of the wolf Pokémon Lycanroc, debuting exclusively in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
