Today has brought with it a series of exciting announcements for fans of Capcom’s Resident Evil series, starting with a release date for Resident Evil Revelations.
Originally announced as a 2017 release, Resident Evil Revelations has now been confirmed for release on Xbox One and PS4 for later this month, on August 29. The game’s new release has also been confirmed to include all DLC and extra content made for the previous releases.
Resident Evil Revelations is itself something of a prequel to the current state of the series, its events taking place between the stories of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5. Fans of the series will note that it is the first part of the two-parter Revelations series, which saw the release of its second part on Xbox One and PS4 in November of 2015. Revelations 1, so to speak, follows Jill Valentine in search of her fellow BSAA agents Chris Redfield and Jessica Sherawat, who go missing on a ship adrift in the Mediterranean Sea. Naturally, the search uncovers something sinister going on beneath, even, the depths of the ocean.
Resident Evil Revelations releases on August 29 for a digital and retail price of $19.99 for Xbox One and PS4. However, its release was also today confirmed for the Nintendo Switch. Resident Evil Revelations 1 and Revelations 2 will be coming to the Switch in the form of Resident Evil Revelations Collection. The combo pack will be available at a retail price of $39.99, with individual online downloads of the separate titles priced at $19.99 each.
The Nintendo Switch combo pack has no definite release date as of yet, but Capcom confirms a release date of both Revelations 1 and Revelations 2 in late 2017.
