Nintendo has revealed Shifty Station as a new stage for Splatoon 2 — the first map to be exclusively playable only during Splatfests.
Originally revealed as “Twilight Zone” in Japan earlier today, the English name of “Shifty Station” seems to reference the stage’s capability of transforming between Splatfests, offering a new experience for players each time. As many have noted, the map appears to draw inspiration from the Octarian maps featured in Splatoon 2’s Hero Mode, but whether or not there is a concrete connection remains to be seen.
As we reported a couple days ago, the first official post-launch Splatfest is set for August 4 in North America and will put mayonnaise up against ketchup in a battle for condiment superiority. It has been confirmed that Shifty Station will be part of the map rotation during the day long event.
